About the Lakes
Kaindy Lake – The Submerged Forest
Formed after an earthquake triggered a landslide over a century ago, Lake Kaindy is unlike anything you’ve seen before. Its still, icy waters conceal a preserved underwater forest. Above the surface, the ghostly spruce trunks rise like ship masts — surreal and dreamlike. The water here is so clear that you can often see the full outlines of sunken trees from the shore.
Kolsai Lakes – "The Pearls of Tien Shan"
Lower Kolsai Lake (Kolsai I) is nestled in a deep mountain valley, surrounded by fir-covered slopes and mirrored peaks. The calm, glass-like waters reflect the sky and forest with pristine clarity. The area is ideal for nature walks, meditation, and nature photography.

Itinerary
Day 1: Talgar Pass – Sunny Meadow
06:00 – Pickup from your hotel in Almaty
06:30 - Departure with tour briefing and road info from your guide
10:15 – Stop at the Black Canyon Viewpoint — a scenic pause to take in one of Kazakhstan’s hidden natural gems
10:30 - Departure toward the mountain village of Saty
11:30 – Arrival in Saty and transfer by 4WD to the lower parking area near Lake Kaindy
12:00 - Easy hike (2.5 km one way) to Kaindy Lake. Free time for exploration and photos
14:00 – Return to Saty village
14:30 - Scenic drive to Kolsai Lake I
15:00 – Arrival at Kolsai. Leisure time for walking, lakeside picnics, or simply soaking in the landscape
17:00 - Departure for Almaty
