FAQ

Everything you need to know before booking your tour

We know that planning a trip — especially to a place as vast and diverse as Kazakhstan — can come with many questions. Below you'll find answers to the most common questions travelers ask about our tours, booking process, accommodations, safety, and what to expect on your adventure.

Q: How do I book a tour with your company?

A: You can book directly through our website by filling out the reservation form on any tour page. Once we confirm availability, you’ll receive a payment link and final itinerary.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: We accept PayPal, Visa, MasterCard, and direct bank transfers. In-person payments can be arranged for local clients.

Q: Can I customize my itinerary?

A: Absolutely! We specialize in tailored experiences. Let us know your preferences — duration, difficulty, must-see locations — and we’ll create a personalized route.

Q: Where do tours usually start from?

A: Most tours depart from Almaty. We offer hotel pickup within the city. If you're staying outside the city center, let us know in advance.

Q: What type of transport is used?

A: We use comfortable, air-conditioned SUVs or minibuses depending on the group size and terrain. For off-road areas like Kaindy Lake or the Singing Dune, 4x4 vehicles are used.

Q: Are your tours suitable for beginners?

A: Yes. We offer a variety of tours for all fitness levels. If you're unsure which tour suits you best, reach out — we’ll guide you.

Q: Do I need special gear for trekking tours?

A: For most hikes, basic hiking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are enough. For longer treks, we’ll send a full packing list in advance.

Q: Are the hikes and ascents difficult?

A: Not necessarily. While some routes (like Big Almaty Peak) involve elevation gain, most of our tours are designed for travelers with moderate fitness.

Q: What’s the best time of year to visit?

A: The ideal travel seasons are spring (April–June) and fall (September–October), when the weather is mild and the landscapes are at their most beautiful.

Q: What should I pack?

A: Essentials include:

  • Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots
  • Layered clothing
  • Sunscreen & sunglasses
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Day backpack
  • Passport/ID

Q: Are meals included?

A: Most full-day and multi-day tours include meals — details are specified on each tour page. For day trips, lunch is usually provided as a picnic or at a local café.

Q: Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?

A: Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-sensitive options are available — just let us know ahead of time.

Q: Are your guides experienced?

A: All of our guides are experienced, trained in first aid, and deeply familiar with the regions they lead tours in. Some are certified mountain rescuers.

Q: Is it safe to hike or camp in Kazakhstan?

A: Yes. Our routes are tested and safe, and we monitor weather and trail conditions. We also carry first-aid kits and maintain communication in remote areas.

Q: What’s your cancellation policy?

A: Cancellations made 7+ days before departure receive a full refund. Between 3–6 days — 50%. Less than 72 hours — non-refundable, unless due to extreme weather or emergency.

Q: What happens if the weather is bad?

A: If conditions are unsafe, we will reschedule or offer an alternative tour. Your safety is our priority.

Q: Do I need a visa to visit Kazakhstan?

A: Citizens of many countries (including the US, Canada, EU) can enter visa-free for up to 30 days. Check with your embassy for current rules.

Q: What language is spoken on tours?

A: All our guides speak English. Russian and Kazakh are the local languages, and you may hear both during your trip.
