Itinerary
Day 1:
08:00 – Departure from Almaty. The drive to Charyn Canyon takes approximately 3 hours, passing through the scenic landscapes of the Ili River Valley and vast Kazakh steppes.
11:00 - Arrival at the canyon. Begin a guided hike through the Valley of Castles, named for its bizarre rock formations that resemble towers and fortresses. The walking route is about 3 kilometers (round-trip) and takes 2.5 to 3 hours, with time for photography, rest, and exploring hidden corners.
14:00 - Departure to the village of Baiseit for a traditional Kazakh lunch or picnic stop.
15:00 – Lunch and short rest.
19:00 - Arrival back in Almaty.
